About the Artist

Lynn Neuman studied at the University of Michigan receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.  Her love of drawing, color and composition led her to continue her studies and work initially with pastels and then oil paint.  Her work is included in private collections in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Cincinnati, Albuquerque and Atlanta.

She is currently exhibiting in the group show, If You Only Knew, curated by Joe and Kathleen Isacson, at the Freeport Art Museum, September 8 thru November 3. 

Her work was included in a group exhibition of Contemporary Artists by the Tenri Cultural Institute & Museum of Russian Art from February 6 - February 12, 2018 at the Tenri Gallery in New York.

She exhibited her series, Action Woman, at Aqua Art Miami with Prak-sis Contemporary Art Association in December 2017.  Other recent exhibitions include a corporate show at 212 W Superior in the Chicago River North Gallery District from August 2016 - October 2017 and CONTEXT New York in May 2017.

In September 2016 she participated in the group show, Refuge and Jewel Box, at stARTup Art Fair Chicago.  Her solo show, Urban Relativity, at Open House Contemporary Gallery, ran from January through April 2016.

She has taught beginning drawing courses out of her studio and participated in an artist interview series with Philip Hartigan called Six of the Best. Click here to read her responses.   She was also featured in the ACS Magazine September/October 2018 issue at acs-mag.com on page 114.

She was selected by the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events to receive a 2017 Individual Artists Program grant and was featured in Stamps School of Art & Design Alumni News.
