About the Artist

Lynn Neuman studied at the University of Michigan receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.  Her love of drawing, color and composition led her to continue her studies and work initially with pastels and then oil paint.  Her work is included in private collections in New York, Chicago, Cincinnati, Albuquerque and Atlanta.

Her work is currently on view at 212 W Superior in the Chicago River North Gallery District. Private viewings can be scheduled using the Contact form.

Her recent exhibit with the Prak-sis Contemporary Art Association at CONTEXT New York, took place May 3-7, 2017 in Manhattan. The fair joined Art New York at Pier 94, located on the Hudson River at 12th Avenue at 55th Street. A VIP Private Preview kicked off art week, May 3 in New York City before Frieze's opening. CONTEXT New York provides collectors with a leading alternative fair to acquire important works of contemporary art.

In September 2016 she participated in the group show, Refuge and Jewel Box, at stARTup Art Fair Chicago.

Her solo show, Urban Relativity, at Open House Contemporary Gallery, ran from January through April 2016.

She has taught beginning drawing courses out of her studio and participated in an artist interview series with Philip Hartigan called Six of the Best. Click here to read her responses.

She was recently selected by the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events to receive a 2017 Individual Artists Program grant and was featured in Stamps School of Art & Design Alumni News.
